This juicy watermelon gin and tonic is the most refreshing way to beat the heat

The temperature gauge is nudging 30, you’ve just endured a sweltering commute home from an airless day at the office… what you need is one of these uber-refreshing watermelon G&Ts with a bucket of ice, stat!

Here at Craft Gin Club, we love trying new twists on a classic G&T, and this one is a perfect option for those hot summer nights when nothing seems to quench your thirst. So go take a seat in the kids’ paddling pool, take a long sip one of these blushing pink beauties, and… chill out.

Watermelon Gin & Tonic

Fresh lime
30ml gin
4-5 cubes of fresh watermelon
Tonic water

Put a few good squeezes of lime juice into your glass, then add a few fresh slices of the lime to your glass. Fill your glass with plenty of ice cubes (the more ice you put in, the colder your drink will be and the longer it will take to melt and dilute the gin, so more is better!).

Add a handful of freshly sliced cubes or wedges of watermelon. Pour over your gin and tonic water. Stir for a minute to help the watermelon flavour infuse and to chill the drink. Garnish with more lime or lemon slices, and a sprig of mint, if desired.
