So, we haven’t been able to go on holiday to the Med (yet) this summer, but never fear! Try this simple twist on your usual gin and tonic for a refreshing, vivid splash of Mediterranean sunshine in your glass this evening. Ideally you’d use freshly squeezed juice, but these fruits are usually only in season in the winter months, so shop-bought versions are almost as good - although we would recommend avoiding those with too much added sugar and letting those fresh, clean flavours shine through!

Blood Orange Gin & Tonic

30ml gin
50ml blood orange juice
Dash of orange bitters (optional)
100ml tonic (or to taste)
Slice of fresh blood orange, to garnish

Pack your gin glass with ice, then add all your ingredients, stir well, and garnish with a slice of fresh blood orange.

Alternatively, for a more sophisticated blood orange-based gin cocktail, try this beautiful take on the classic martini, which we created for our Gin of the Month back in October 2018.
