5 fizzy gin cocktails to ring in the New Year!

New Year's Eve calls for a glass of something sparkling - but that doesn't mean abandoning your beloved gin! These five fizzy gin cocktail recipes are just the thing for ringing in 2017. Cheers!

French 75

This classic gin and fizz cocktail is a refreshing, sophisticated and super-simple sip.

French 75 Herno gin and prosecco cocktail

30ml Gin
15ml lemon juice
15ml simple syrup*
Champagne (or other sparkling wine)

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake for about five seconds. Strain into a champagne flute and top with ice cold Champagne or sparkling wine) for one of the best ways to kick off a dinner. 

*Simple Syrup - warm equal parts of sugar and water so it dissolves then let it cool. Can be stored, sealed, in the fridge for 4-6 months.

 

Modern Art

Created especially by Luxardo for Craft Gin Club using December's Gin of the Month Arbikie AK's Gin, this little number adds a sumptuous touch of cherry to your tipple.

Modern art luxardo cherries arbikie gin and fizz cocktail

30ml Arbikie AK’s Gin
10ml fresh lemon juice
15ml Luxardo cherry syrup from the jar
Sparkling wine

Shake ingredients and strain into a Champagne glass, top with your favourite sparkling wine and garnish with a Luxardo maraschino cherry.

 

Sloe Royale

Seasonal sloe gin + bubbles = festively fizzy New Year's Eve perfection!

25ml sloe gin
150ml chilled sparkling wine

Pour the sloe gin into a Champagne flute and top with fizz. 

 

Pomegranate Gin Fizz

This ruby red recipe can be mixed in batches and is sure to add a touch of glamour to your festivities!

Recipe makes six servings

75ml gin
150ml pomegranate juice
300ml chilled Prosecco
pomegranate seeds to garnish

Mix gin and pomegranate juice together then divide equally between six Champagne glasses. Top up with Prosecco, garnish with a few pomegranate seeds and serve immediately.

 

French 77

This variation on the French 75 replaces sugar syrup with elderflower liqueur for a delicately floral sip.

60ml Champagne (or sparkling wine)
30ml gin
15ml elderflower liqueur
15ml lemon juice
lemon twist garnish

Combine gin, elderflower liqueur and lemon juice in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled flute or coupe. Top with Champagne and garnish with a lemon twist.
