Llanllyr Source Spring Water has been the water of choice for chefs, mixologists and restaurants from all over the globe - including chef Ferran Adria from the now-legendary three Michelin-starred El Bulli restaurant and the luxurious Ritz Hotel.

With that amazing pedigree, we were so excited to include the multi-award-winning Llanllyr Source Tonic Water for our April 2022 Gin of the Month box!

Its beautiful balance of Indian quinine and Sicilian lemon tones are the perfect partners to craft gins like our April 2022 Gin of the Month, In The Welsh Wind Signature Style Gin. You can find the recipe for our April 2022 perfect serve right here!

But the fun doesn’t end there, Llanllyr Source has a range of alternative mixer options that work oh-so-well with craft gin. Here are three of our favourite alternative serves:

Gin and Llanllyr Light Tonic Water with apricot and thyme

Llanllyr Source Light Tonic Water has all of the same wonderful quinine and lemon qualities as its non-light sibling, just with fewer calories to worry about. Those delicate citrus tones work so well with subtle stone fruit like apricot and woody herbs like thyme, together with a rich craft gin, this serve goes far beyond your average gin and tonic.

Gin and Llanllyr Source Bitter Lemon with fresh lemon and mint

For those that love lemon with their gin as much as we do, there is Llanllyr Source Bitter Lemon. This mouth-watering grown-up lemonade is created using quinine, organic Sicilian lemons and Brazilian oranges. The result is a well rounded, delectably bitter, lemon-forward mixer that gin just adores.

Gin and Llanllyr Source Ginger Beer with orange and rosemary

This vibrant and delectably fiery ginger beer is made using only the finest natural ginger and a carefully curated selection of spices that make it a sublime partner to the complex juniper tones of gin. Finished with some sweet-tart citrus and fragrant soft herbs like mint and you are onto a winner.

For a sweeter touch, Llanllyr Source Ginger Ale is a scrumptious alternative!

What makes Llanllyr Source so irresistible to culinary titans and gin fans alike?

Naturally low in minerals and wonderfully soft, Llanllyr’s Spring Water has incredible purity and taste, which make it perfect for pairing with complex flavour profiles. Not only this, but it comes from a Welsh farm that has been working the land in a sustainable manner for over 300 years and Llanllyr Source have adopted that same commitment to protecting our environment.

Long before sustainability became a trendy word, it was a central part of our ethics at Llanllyr. We’ve been farming organically here since the 80s, and as a water and mixer brand we’ve been carbon neutral since 2006.

— Patrick Glee, Llanllyr Source founder

Since then, they’ve continually found ways to be good stewards of the land that has given them so much.

In 2008, Llanllyr Souce became the first UK water company to pack water in cans, and in 2019 they became the first UK water company to stop using single-use plastic bottles. They also use a high percentage of recyclable materials and solar panels. By 2025, they aim to be carbon negative.
