Ever since we first tried Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic with Hawkridge London Dry Victorian Aphrodisiac Blend, our February 2022 Gin of the Month, both of which Craft Gin Club members can find in their February 2022 Gin of the Month box and both of which are used to create our February 2022 Perfect G&T, we have been hooked on the combination of grapefruit tonic and gin.

That wonderful medley of bittersweet and fragrant citrus tones that grapefruit offers simply works so well with the rich, deep complexity of a good craft gin.

Hawkridge London Dry Victorian Blend isn’t the only gin that works so well with Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic, however, there is a range of marvellous tipples that are fabulous with ths great mixer. We have picked out three of our favourites: a London Dry, a citrus-forward gin and a Navy Strength gin - three varieties that we think are particularly well-suited to Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic.

Give them a go!

Four Pillar Rare Dry Gin

This fantastic gin comes from the world-renown Four Pillars Gin Distillery in Australia’s picturesque Yarra Valley. Juniper-forward, this London Dry is full of unique and utterly delicious spice and fruit flavours, with a touch of citrus that’s completely divine.

Why does this gin work so well with Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic? We think these two make such a great pairing because the fruitiness and citrus tones of the gin complement the grapefruit in the tonic brilliantly, while the juniper and spice notes of the gin provide a tantalizing contrast that’s oh-so-moreish.

The result is a pink G&T that’s complex yet harmonious, finding that perfect balance between sweet and savoury.

How would you garnish this G&T? We recommend using a woody herb like thyme or rosemary.

Ludlow Triple Citrus and Pomegranate Gin No. 2

Ludlow Triple Citrus and Pomegranate Gin No. 2 comes from the Wardingtons Ludlow Gin distillery in Shropshire, England. It’s known as the “wild child” by the distillers because of its vibrant, unapologetically citrus-forward flavour profile, which is bursting with citrus notes and that sweet-tart tang of pomegranate. Yum!

Why does this gin work so well with Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic? Together, Ludlow Triple Citrus and Pomegranate Gin No.2 and Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic provide you with a G&T that’s absolutely brimming with fantastic citrus flavours without leaning too far on the sweet, tart or sour side of the fence.

They make for a wonderful example of how incredible a pink, citrus-forward G&Ts can be.

How would you garnish this G&T? We recommend continuing the citrus theme with a selection of lime, lemon and orange slices.

Rock Rose Gin Navy Strength

Full of juniper, citrus and berry notes, all exaggerated by the strength of the gin, it’s perfect for pairing with flavoured tonics and for use in cocktails, as it can more than stand up for itself.

Why does this gin work so well with Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic? The strength of the gin aside, its medley of unique berry and citrus tones really compliment the grapefruit-tang of Fitch & Leedes Grapefruit Tonic, making it a truly special G&T.

How would you garnish this G&T? With think this gin and tonic pairing works fantastic with fresh berries.
