Whether you are looking for the perfect brunch cocktail, an idillyc sunset sipper or simply a fun twist on a classic, this Grapefruit Gin Mimosa is not to be missed.

It’s fruity, bitter, sweet, bubbly and SO easy to make at home, making it great for garden parties and get-togethers with your gin pals in the sun. Give it a go….

What normally goes into a Mimosa?

The traditional Mimosa recipe is equal parts champagne and orange juice. They are both poured into a champagne flute and sometimes garnished with a slice of fresh orange.

The recipe is simple and effective and extremely adaptable, whether you just want to add a sprig of mint or change the citrus juice and add gin as we have done for this scrumptious twist!

Grapefruit Gin Mimosa:

Grapefruit juice may be the dominant flavour in this mimosa but the gin is the headline act. And, for us, it has to be Loveday Glas House Gin, Craft Gin Club’s August 2023 Gin of the Month.

Made by Loveday Distillery in Falmouth, Cornwall, Loveday Glas House Gin has a unique and utterly delicious mix of rosemary, peppery nasturtium and lemon citrus tones that work so well with the grapefruit juice and add layers of joyous garden flavours.

For the sparkling wine, we recommend prosecco but you can use champagne, cava or another sparkling wine of your choice. As long as it’s light, crisp, fruity and full of fizz, it should work wonderfully well with the gin and grapefruit juice.

How to make the Grapefruit Gin Mimosa:

Grapefruit Mimosa cocktail recipe

25ml Loveday Glas House Gin
50ml fresh grapefruit juice
Prosecco, champagne or other sparkling white wine, to top
Fresh grapefruit slices, to garnish

Add the gin and grapefruit juice to a shaker with ice and stir well. Strain into a champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine. Garnish, serve and enjoy!

Got lots of avid gin and cocktail fans on the way? No problem!

You can mix the gin and grapefruit juice ahead of time in a big jug (just times the recipe by however many guests you have). Then just pour it out into your glass and top with the wine.
