Dessert cocktail fans, you have got to give this Bread & Butter Pudding-inspired cocktail a try!

A hearty mix of gin, sherry, vanilla syrup and cream, each sip is brimming custardy, sweet flavours that are simply divine.

Trust us, make this for one person and they will all want one - best make a batch?

For us, there are two main flavour components to a classic Bread & Butter Pudding: the custard-soaked bread and the sweet, fruity sultanas.

To capture that vanilla-infused body of the dessert, we are using vanilla syrup. It’s the perfect way to add a mouthwatering vanilla perfume to the cocktail. Paired with the silky smooth cream, it mimics the sensation of enjoying the finest custard wonderfully.

To represent the flavours of the dried fruit, we are using sherry. Sherry has a sweet, complex palate that is brimming with dried fruit flavours that work so well with the vanilla here.

Which gin should you use for this cocktail? We recommend Forged Winter Gin! Craft Gin Club’s November 2023 Gin of the Month, this gorgeous craft gin has a tasty mix of juniper, spice and warm citrus tones that add layers of delectably decadent complexity to the cocktail.

The addition of milk then balances the heavy cream to make sure the cocktail is a surprisingly light drinking experience.

We cannot get enough and we are sure you are going to love every sip!

Bread & Butter Pudding

25ml Forged Winter Gin
20ml vanilla syrup
15ml sherry
60ml double cream
60ml milk
10ml simple syrup
Golden granulated sugar, to rim the glass

Start by rimming the glass with golden granulated sugar. In two separate saucers, place a tablespoon of sherry and a tablespoon of sugar. Coat the rim of your glass in the sherry first and then the sugar. Leave to set.

To make the cocktail, add all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake with cubed ice. Strain into a Rocks glass filled with ice. Serve and enjoy!

Forged Winter Gin is also fantastic with peach schnapps and pomegranate in this scrumptious martini recipe! Check it out here
