What is a flip cocktail?

A flip is a traditional type of cocktail that mixes a spirit with an egg (whole or just the yolk) and a sweetener, often sugar or Simple Syrup.

For our flip recipe, we are using gin for the spirit and maple syrup for the sweetener. We also add an optional glug of cream for an extra touch of festive indulgence, which makes the cocktail very similar to Egg Nog, especially with the grating of fresh nutmeg over the top that we recommend as a garnish.

When these elements come together, you’ll be surprised how refreshing the Maple Syrup Gin Flip cocktail tastes - with its smooth, cooling texture, delicious maple syrup sweetness, invitingly foamy rim and a lovely hint of nutmeg.

It’s basically festivity in a cocktail! What’s more, it only takes two minutes to make this cocktail recipe, so you’ll be enjoying this gin and maple syrup flip cocktail with your guests in no time…
