The best raspberry gin recipe

It’s really that simple. And the result? A fruity gin where the juniper mixes beautifully with the sweetness of the fresh raspberries.

It makes the ultimate pink gin gift and it’s sure to impress your guests if you’re hosting a ginny get-together.

You can use raspberry gin to jazz up your favourite gin cocktails (we recommend trying raspberry gin in a Clover Club cocktail recipe!) or enjoy it in a simple G&T with lots of ice - see our amazing raspberry gin and tonic serving suggestion below. Some would say it’s the taste of summer!

When is the best time of the year to use raspberries to make raspberry gin?

In the UK, raspberries are harvested between June and October (raspberry plants bloom from May to August), so British summertime is the best time to go and pick some gorgeous ripe raspberries or find them at your local market for this recipe.

To capture the fabulous flavour of raspberries at their best, we definitely recommend waiting for that window to make the gin.

How to make raspberry gin at home:

70cl gin
200g fresh raspberries
100g caster sugar

Combine the raspberries, gin and sugar in an airtight jar, close and shake well. Store in a cool, dark place for two weeks. Strain using a sieve or muslin cloth.

What tonic goes best with raspberry gin?

Raspberry gin is a very versatile stipple and can work well with any premium tonic water, it also works great with soda water and ginger ale for those who don’t like the flavour of tonic.

We recommend trying your raspberry gin with a classic tonic water like Llanllyr Source Tonic Water and then experimenting with elderflower-flavoured tonic water to really take those summer flavours to the next level.
