For this delicious winter cocktail, we’ve taken inspiration from the Negroni Sbagliato, which usually calls for vermouth, gin and prosecco, and replaced the prosecco with beautiful, seasonal pear cider (perry), lightened the drink up by using white vermouth, and finally, added some fabulous winter spices that pair really well with this yummy fruit!

Note: we recommend a drier style of cider is recommended, as the spices will add sweetness. The result? An elegant, delicately spiced, and perfectly balanced and very grown-up cocktail. Chin chin!

Spiced Pear Negroni

25ml Gin
25ml White vermouth
A few drops of vanilla essence, or a pod
Cinnamon stick
A few cloves
Pinch of ground ginger
Pear Cider to top up
Lemon peel, rosemary or thyme sprig, to garnish

First, infuse the vermouth with spice by adding the vanilla, cinnamon, cloves and ginger to the spirit and leave to infuse for at least 30 minutes. The longer you leave it, the more flavour the vermouth will take on! Before using, strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer.

Add lots of ice to a Rocks glass or tumbler, then add your gin, spice-infused vermouth and pear cider. Stir gently, garnish and serve.
