This citrusy gin cocktail is a must-try when the sun comes out through spring and summer - and it's a great way to inject a little brightness into your autumn and winter too.

A simple mix of gin, orange juice, lime juice and honey or agave syrup, it's super easy to make at home and a great way to impress your friends at parties.

Invented by the amazing team at Salcombe Distilling Co., this deceptively simple serve relies on the quality of its few ingredients. That means picking the right gin for the task and using only the freshest fruit juices you can get your hands on.

For the gin, our first choice is Salcombe Gin 'Start Point' - The Azores Edition, Craft Gin Club's May 2024 Gin of the Month.

This incredible special edition craft gin was inspired by Salcombe's connection to St Michael's in the Azores through the fruit and spice trade between the two ports. As such, the gin is brimming with bright orange and lime leaf flavours, which are complemented by hints of chamomile and bay leaf, all atop a perfectly balanced base of earthy juniper.

That stunning mix of juniper, citrus, floral and herb tones are the perfect partners to the sweet, warming fresh orange juice and fragrant, zesty lime juice in this recipe.

For these fruit juices, we do recommend using freshly squeezed orange and lime juice where possible, as this will enhance the flavour profile of the finished cocktails. However, fresh orange juice from the supermarket works too.

The honey or agave syrup then rounds out the vibrant citrus flavours of the cocktail wonderfully. If you go for honey, the cocktail will be sweeter, with subtle floral notes. Agave syrup adds sweeteness too but with an earthier edge. Both are fantastic in this tipple!
