For a festive cocktail with real wow factor - that’s also super easy to make - take a look at this ruby-red stunner! The Hedgerow Fizz (also known as the Hedgerow Royale) is a winning combination of sweet and fruity sloe gin, warming cherry brandy, tart fresh lemon juice and sparkling champagne!
In other words, it not only looks truly showstopping, it tastes fabulous too!
You can make these individually or multiply the volumes below to create a beautiful pitcher or cocktail jug full for guests at your festive parties.
One final note: the hat-trick combination of cherry brandy, sloe gin and bubbly makes for quite the, um, heady mix, so just be aware that although these delicious drinks are very easy to drink, more than one or two could make for a more eventful Christmas than you had bargained for!
For a less boozy version, you can replace the cherry brandy with elderflower cordial for an equally tasty tipple. Cheers!
Hedgerow Fizz
25ml sloe gin
25ml cherry brandy
50ml Champagne*, or to taste
A squeeze of lemon juice (optional - creates a slightly sharper, less sweet drink)
Sprig of rosemary or red berries, to garnish (optional)
Add the sloe gin and cherry brandy (plus lemon juice, if using) to a chilled flute or coupe glass and gently stir. Top up with Champagne and garnish with a sprig of rosemary and/or your preferred festive red berries.
*Prosecco or dry sparkling wine will also work just as well.
