We don’t need much convincing to get creative and try new delicious cocktail recipes - but when they’re easy-to-make and use ingredients that are already lying around the house, we’re hook, line and sinker!

This gorgeous recipe uses a trusty staple cupboard ingredient that you probably have on your shelves but may have forgotten was there. Sound good? Then say hello to our new monthly cocktail recipes series, Storecupboard Sips. Which, in short, means plenty more delectable cocktail recipes made easy-peasy. This month, it’s flavour-packed lemon curd.

Now, about the cocktail: traditionally made with fresh lime juice and gin, and originally used by Naval doctors to keep scurvy away on long voyages, the Gimlet is known for its delectably tart citrus flavour (you can find one of our favourite lime and gin Gimlet recipes here).

We are absolutely head-over-heels in love with this Double Lemon Gimlet gin cocktail recipe by Natalie Migliarini for VinePair. Its mix of gin, lemon curd, lemon juice and Vanilla Syrup has us drooling.

This recipe rounds out those sour notes with the sweeter lemon curd and the warm, mellow fragrances of the Vanilla Syrup. One sip and you’ll never look back. It’s the perfect way to bring a little lemon-yellow sunshine into your day.

30ml lemon juice
15ml Vanilla Syrup (available on the Craft Gin Club Online Shop here)
1tsp lemon curd
Lemon peel, to garnish

Combine the gin, lemon juice, Vanilla Syrup and lemon curd in a cocktail shaker with lots of ice. Shake well and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish, serve and enjoy.

Of course, we couldn’t talk about lemon curd and gin without mentioning our Lemon Drizzle cocktail recipe. It’s from our recipe book Gin O’Clock: A Year of Ginspiration and you can find it right here:
