Here at Craft Gin Club, we’re always up for trying something new, especially if it involves our favourite tipple, gin. So newsflash: gin-infused beer is a thing, people!

And one thing is, for sure - our Clubbers are an adventurous bunch: from our Discovery Gins, like our Cherry Moon gin (made with distilled with rock from space) and Campfire Cask Aged gin, our members often give unique and rare craft gins a try - and discover a new favourite gin!

And we know that pale ale and gin work surprisingly well together, as we made this delicious Grapefruit, Gin and Elderflower Punch which includes IPA (India Pale Ale).

Our ears perked up when we discovered that St Austell brewery in Cornwall has launched a limited-edition, gin-infused pale ale called ‘Gineous’, to mark International Women’s Day last week, (March 8th). We did a bit of digging to find out more (anything in the name of ginny research!)…

Created by 25 women from St Austell Brewery, they worked with brewing director Georgina Young to help brew this unique ginny beer - and celebrate the women who have played a role in their business.

Their ‘Cask Club’ initiative allows their team to experiment with different beer styles from around the world.

It also means their pubs can serve different innovative limited-edition cask brews for their customers each week, and being a craft gin club ourselves - we definitely appreciate special, limited-edition versions of all tipples!

So what does this ginny beer taste like? Brewing director Georgina Young, speaking to BeerToday, said:

Gineous is a delicious fruity pale ale, with added juniper, orange peel, and bergamot. A splash of Gin 77 (a London dry gin) - lifts the flavour of the beer, adding notes of fresh grapefruit zest, root ginger, and pink peppercorns.

— Georgina Young, Brewing Director at St Austell Brewery

So, what do you think, Clubbers? Perhaps we’d need to try it to beer-lieve it!

Gineous is available now in 40 pubs across the South West, and you can find those serving it right here

Other delicious gins we SERIOUSLY rate...
