We’re celebrating Old Fashioned Week the only way we know how… with the bottoms of our glasses up. Recipes for old fashioned cocktails dates back to at least 1802 and combines spirit, sugar and bitters.

Method:

  1. In a tall glass add 50ml gin and 1tsp of soft brown sugar and stir for 3 minutes. If making the simple syrup version then add 15ml and stir for 1 minute.
  2. Add 3 dashes of orange bitter and lots of ice then stir again.
  3. Add 3 large ice cubes into a small glass, then pour the mixture in, using a cocktail strainer.
  4. Twist 1 orange peel, rim the glass with some zest and drop in for garnish.
