Did you know that you can visit the home of our August 2020 Gin of the Month, Rock Rose Citrus Coastal Edition Gin? That’s right, when we are once again able to travel freely you can visit the Rock Rose Gin Distillery in Dunnet Bay, Caithness.
Here’s what you can expect from a wonderful tour of the distillery and all of the other Rock Rose goodies you can find there - including the incredibly handsome Mr Mackintoch, the Miniature Schnauzer!
A Day at the Distillery
Claire and Martin Murray built their distillery hoping that it would one day play host to tourists from around the world – and they haven’t been disappointed. They have even played host to royalty!

Martin and Claire keep their tour groups small, so that you can have a relaxed experience with plenty of gin to go around. And you’ll benefit from an amazing host: Joanne, whose creative and informative tours have become the stuff of legend.
On the tour, you’ll be able to see the custom stills where Martin and Claire make their spirits, plus the garden that provides many of their botanicals – including the lemon verbena that gives August’s Gin of the Month its citrus lift.

A Stunning Shop
Claire and Martin have always been committed to supporting other local businesses. In their distillery shop, you can stock up not just on stunning spirits like their Holy Grass Vodka and seasonal expressions of their Rock Rose Gin – along with Rock Rose-infused treats like chocolates, shortbread and marmalade – but also artisanal treasures from fellow Scottish family businesses.
Because it’s just the two of us, we can be really adventurous. For Halloween last year we distilled electric daisies, which give you a little shock on your tongue!

Claire and Martin are ardent dog lovers, and their Miniature Schnauzer Mr. Mackintosh runs the show at Dunnet Bay! You’re sure to encounter this friendly face, with his trademark red bandana, during your visit.
