In the UK, the pear season runs from September to January. That’s plenty of time to perfect this fantastic pear, gin and prosecco cocktail recipe!
The gin of choice for this recipe? Well, that would have to be Cotton Garden Gin, of course! Our September 2021 Gin of the Month, this fantastic craft gin from Otterbeck Distillery in Yorkshire was originally made just for Craft Gin Club members using English garden herbs, citrus fruits and juniper.
Those complex herbaceous notes in the gin are the perfect partner to the orchard fruit flavours of the pear juice. The fabulously fizzy sparkling wine then adds a touch of luxury to this dazzling cocktail.
We like to use prosecco for its delicate, crisp, clean profile, which complements the sweet fruit and rich gin, but champaign or cava will work just as well if you are lucky enough to have either to hand!

Gin Pear Royale
30ml Cotton Garden Gin
15ml simple syrup
15ml lemon juice
15ml pear juice
Prosecco, to top up
Thyme sprig, to garnish
Add your first four ingredients to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a champagne flute and top up with sparkling wine. Garnish and serve.
