Winter is the season for surprises and delights. And with a little help from the team at London Essence, who have mastered the craft of creating luxurious drinks from only the purest, most beautiful flavours, and whose fabulous tonics can be found in our December 2020 Gin of the Month box, we’re finding ways to add a touch of extra excitement to our favourite Christmas traditions.

For everyone here at Craft Gin Club HQ, no festive season would be complete without a delicious G&T or two, and the mixologists at The London Essence Co. have come up with three special serves to make this year’s G&Ts more magical than ever.

You need to give each of these amazing serves a try this Christmas - then you’ll be trying them all year long, we are hooked!

G&T with Sherry

That’s right, that classical fortified wine, with its rich, sweet, raisin flavours, is the perfect addition to a G&T when the tonic used is London Essence Grapefruit & Rosemary Tonic Water. The tonic’s vibrant and complex mix of fruity and ultra-fresh flavours combines the tang of grapefruit with herbaceous notes of rosemary and delectably bitter quinine. They are the perfect bridge between the juniper notes of the gin and syrupy warmth of the sherry. This G&T is a must-try!

G&T with Sherry

Ingredients

25ml gin (we recommend a citrus-forward gin for this recipe)
2 dashes manzanilla sherry
125ml London Essence Grapefruit & Rosemary Tonic Water, chilled
Olive, to garnish

Method

Add all your ingredients to a balloon glass with ice. Give a quick stir, garnish and enjoy.

Chilled G & Tea

With its aromatic citrus tones and pleasantly bitter and rich notes of quinine and juniper, London Essence Indian Tonic Water is the perfect match for both the complex flavours of a classic London Dry Gin and those wonderfully fragrant aromas of tea. The tangerine syrup then adds that extra touch of festive spirit.

G & Tea recipe

Ingredients

25ml gin
5ml tangerine syrup
London Essence Indian Tonic Water, to top up
A cold tea infusion bag in the flavour of your choice (they can be found in most major supermarkets)

Method

Add your gin and tangerine syrup to a balloon glass with ice. Top up with your tonic and add your cold tea infusion bag before serving.

G&T with Coffee

The rich, complex aromas of a high-quality coffee are a delight when mixed with gin and London Essence Indian Tonic Water or their Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic Water. The stunning balance of playful citrus, warming spice and bitter quinine in their well-crafted Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic Water is an incredible partner to the juniper notes of the gin and the chocolatey depth of the coffee, as are the rich citrus, quinine and juniper tones of their Indian Tonic Water. Surprise a gin pal with this unique and utterly divine tipple and they will not be disappointed!

G&T with Coffee

25ml cold brew coffee
125ml London Essence Indian Tonic Water or London Essence Pomelo & Pink Pepper Tonic Water
