It’s difficult to think about Monaco, the home of our May 2020 Gin of the Month, La Distillerie de Monaco Gin aux Agrumes, without the Formula 1 Grand Prix coming to mind. Yet today that event is as famous for its luxury parties and elite social scene as it is for the cars.
This easy cocktail recipe, that our members can find in their May 2020 edition of Ginned Magazine, which we sent in their May 2020 Gin of the Month box, is an ode to that mix of opulent living and high-octane speed. It blends the delicious Mediterranean citrus notes of La Distillerie De Monaco Gin aux Agrumes with the herb, rhubarb and caramel flavours of the Spuma Polara from Sicily. The bespoke Race Car Cocktail Syrup then ties it all together with an uplifting tropical sweetness. Every sip is full of sun soaked splendour and the vigour of high speed racing. Enjoy!
Craft Gin Club’s Race Car
50ml La Distillerie de Monaco Gin aux Agrumes
25ml Race Car Syrup
100ml Spuma Polara, to top up
15ml fresh lemon juice
Orange wedge, to garnish
Fill a rocks glass with ice and add your gin, lemon juice and syrup. Give it a little stir then top up with the Spuma Polara. Garnish with an orange wedge and serve.
