Inspired by the incredible Manomasa Manchego & Green Olive Tortilla Chips in Craft Gin Club’s February 2022 Gin of the Month box, we have paired two fantastic and creative Gin Martini recipes with some seriously delicious Manomasa chip-and-dip combinations.

These two beautiful suggestions are all you need for the perfect night in with your gin pals.

The first is a gorgeous Gin Martini recipe from the amazing team at Manomasa that has a melon-ball twist. We’ve paired this sumptuous cocktail with Manomasa’s crunchy White Corn Chips and their bright and vibrant Pico de Gallo recipe.

The second is a spicy martini twist on the classic Red Snapper gin cocktail recipe that we have paired with Manomasa’s cooling avocado hummus recipe, to be enjoyed with their mouth-watering Chipotle & Lime Tortilla Chips.

We are so excited for you to give these a go!

Manomasa’s Gin Martini recipe with Pico de Gallo and Manomasa White Corn Chips

This incredible martini recipe starts off in a classic way, with a simple yet oh-so-effective mix of gin and vermouth. Manomasa has then added sweet, fragrant Honey Dew Melon balls as garnishes, along with aromatic rosemary and citrusy lemon zest.

The wonderful, creative combination of sweet, citrus and savoury works so remarkably well with the rich juniper of the gin - we recommend a London Dry like Cambridge Dry Gin, which has subtle herb tones that really complement the garnishes and the complex herb and spice notes of the vermouth.

Pico de Gallo recipe

Manomasa’s Pico de Gallo recipe is a brilliant partner to this cocktail. Pico de Gallo, which means “beak of rooster” in English, is a Mexican salsa that is thought to have got its name because it was traditionally eaten using your thumb and index finger in a pinching motion, like a pecking rooster.

Their recipe has a vibrant mix of chopped fresh tomato, onion, garlic, a touch of jalapeño (add more if you like the heat!) and coriander that is really refreshing, especially when scooped up with a delectably crunchy Manomas White Corn Chip - or the Manchego & Green Olive Tortilla Chips from our February box, for that matter! You can find the full Manomasa Pico de Gallo recipe right here.

In the meantime, let's whip up this martini!

Gin Martini recipe with melon

120ml London Dry gin
10ml dry vermouth - we recommend Londinio Dry Vermouth!
6 fresh Honey Dew balls
2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
2 slices of fresh lemon zest

Add the gin and vermouth to a stirring glass or shaker and stir well. Strain into your martini glass. Garnish, serve and enjoy!

Red Snapper Martini with avocado hummus and Manomasa Chipotle & Lime Tortilla Chips

The traditional Red Snapper is not a martini at all, it is normally served in a tumbler or highball glass. This version is smooth and spicy, and a touch more elegant than its counterpart. However, all of those incredible tomato and gin flavours are still very much there, bolstered by that lip-smacking hit of Worcestershire sauce and that quintessential touch of Tabasco.

Avocado hummus recipe

With an optional sprinkle of chilli salt around the rim, this savoury delight is utterly divine!

Our Red Snapper Martini certainly packs a punch. That’s why we are pairing it with Manomasa’s heavenly avocado hummus recipe, which you can find at this link. It mixes creamy avocado with the usual suspects for hummus: chickpeas and tahini.

Garlic then adds depth and richness while a squeeze of lemon and sprinkle of fresh coriander brighten the whole experience.

You simply have to give it a go with Manomasa Chipotle & Lime Tortilla Chips! But first, let’s conquer the Red Snapper Martini:

Tomato and gin martini recipe with chilli

50ml gin - we recommend something citrus-forward like Batch Lime Leaf Gin!
65ml tomato juice
1 dash of Tabasco (add more to taste)
2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce
25ml fresh lemon juice
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 tbsp of chilli salt (optional)
Chilli, to garnish (optional)

If using the chilli salt, combine 1tbsp of flaky salt with 1tbsp of chilli flakes. Add to a saucer. Dip the rim of the martini glass in gin or lemon juice and then sit the rim in the chilli salt. Stand the glass back up and allow the chilli salt to dry onto the rim.

For the cocktail, add all of the ingredients to a shaker or stirring glass with lots of ice and stir well until completely chilled. Strain into your glass. Garnish, serve and enjoy!
