Making amazing gin isn’t the only thing our October Gin of the Month excel at! After the sell out success of their last gin train experience, the lovely folks at Burleighs are here to give you another adventure you won’t forget. Take yourself on this once in a lifetime gin experience, as you sip craft cocktails and roll through the English countryside on a luxury steam train!
Arriving at Loughborough station, you’ll be greeted with festive cocktails, canapes and a live jazz band, before boarding The Grand Burleighs Express and starting down the Great Central Railway - the UKs only double tracked mainline heritage railway, where you can wave past by other steam trains like in days of old.
You’ll settle into your plush compartment and enjoy a Burleighs G&T as you as you power towards Swithland, meandering through the beautiful countryside. Great drinks, great views and great company - what could be better?!
The Swithland Resevoir is a sight to behold, and will provide the scenic background for an opulent 3 course meal, accompanied by an expertly picked wine pairing from 45 St Martin’s Vintners. It’s sure to get you in the festive mood!
When you’ve eaten to your hearts content, it’s back to the steam train for more scenic views. A live jazz band and magician provide more entertainment, and you’ll eventually pull into the picturesque station of Rothley. Old feel gas lamps light the station, and you’ll enjoy another Burleigh G&T whilst basking in the beautifully restored 19th century station!
All good things must sadly come to an end, and you’ll experience one last ride on the Burleighs Express as you head back to Loughbrough station, with a welcome coffee and mint to finish off the evening.
Coming to you for one night only in December, it’s the perfect way to get into the festive mood and begin celebrating the holidays.
