Originally invented in the New York Bar in Paris, there has always been a stylishly metropolitan and debonair aura around this delicious tipple, as though it was made be sipped on a rooftop bar in spring, preferably while looking out over a collage of Parisian architecture and bustling cobbled streets. Sigh! We can dream…

You can use any gin for this cocktail and it will surely be delicious, but the use of Ludlow Elderflower, Chamomile and Lemon Verbena Gin by the team at Ludlow Distillery - our Gin of the Month for March 2020 - does give you an experience like no other: the floral and citrus notes in their gin bring pastoral scenes onto that rooftop bar, making each sip of their French 75 a haven of elderflower and chamomile aromas that are elevated by those champagne bubbles. Ooh, it’s turning us all poetic! We’ve also added a dash of limoncello for a truly rich, sweet lemon-y depth. Yum!

In this cocktail recipe, which our members found in their March 2020 edition of GINNED! Magazine, spring in the city meets spring in the countryside - what an exciting mix to enjoy wherever you are!
