Tennis lovers will eat upwards of 28,000kg of these yummy red berries with cream over the course of the tournament, but we prefer ours with added gin.

Strawberry Gin Smash
This refreshing recipe from The Kitchn can be multiplied and made ahead in a pitcher if you're catering for a crowd.
1/2 tsp sugar
1 lime wedge
3 fresh strawberries, 2 hulled and sliced and 1 to garnish
Fresh mint sprig, to garnish
Combine the sugar and a squeeze of lime juice in a tall glass. Muddle with the back of a spoon until the sugar is largely dissolved.
Add the sliced strawberries and muddle gently.
Fill the glass with ice and add the gin. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with a strawberry and a sprig of mint.
Plymouth Gin and Tonic

1⁄8tsp freshly ground black pepper
50ml navy-strength gin
Muddle 2 strawberries and ⅛ tsp. freshly ground black pepper in a shaker; pour into an ice-filled goblet. Stir in 1½ oz. navy-strength gin. Top with 4 oz. tonic; garnish with a strawberry.
Strawberry Basil Lemonade

3 basil leaves, plus extra to garnish
1 large strawberry, plus extra to garnish
50ml Sicilian Lemonade
Muddle the strawberry and basil leaves gently in an Old Fashioned glass. Fill with ice and set aside. In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin and lemonade. Fill with ice and shake. Strain into the prepared glass and top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a strawberry and a basil leaf.
