We've taken the classic, gloriously chocolaty Mocha coffee recipe to the next level by adding a luxurious top of whipped cream and a hearty splash of our favourite spirit: gin!
And it's not just any gin...
For this Italy-inspired hot cocktail, we have gone for a truly special Italian gin, Gin Mezzanotte from the amazing team at Distilleria Mezzanotte.
Craft Gin Club's February 2024 Gin of the Month, Gin Mezzanotte is made with cocoa beans, orange and Makrut lime leaves, giving it a joyous mix of chocolate and citrus flavours which play atop more classic juniper-led tones that are simply divine.
Those chocolate and citrus notes work so well in this hot cocktail, complementing the aromatic coffee and sweet hot chocolate flavours to give you a complex, warming and delectably decadent drinking experience.
And, to add to this gloriously indulgent experience, we are recommending a garnish of whipped cream, grated chocolate and chocolate sauce. We can't wait for you to give it a try!
Craft Gin Club's Boozy Mocha cocktail recipe:
50ml Gin Mezzanotte
50ml fresh espresso coffee
2tsp high-quality chocolate powder/hot chocolate mix
Hot, foamed milk, enough to fill your mug or glass
Whipped cream, to garnish
Grated chocolate, to garnish
Chocolate sauce, to garnish (optional)
Stir together the espresso, gin and chocolate powder in your mug. Stir in the milk and spoon the foam on top. Garnish, serve and enjoy!
