Drum roll, please! One of the most iconic tequila cocktails ever made has been given a ginny makeover.

Meet Craft Gin Club’s Margarita, made with an incredible gin all the way from Mexico City, plus a mixer crafted from juicy, organic oranges from Mexico and Craft Gin Club’s bespoke Margarita Cocktail Syrup, it is not to be missed.

Find the full recipe for our alternative Margarita below!

The traditional Margarita is made with tequila, fresh lime juice and triple sec (often Cointreau). It is a vibrant, zesty cocktail that’s brimming with bright, punchy citrus tones.

The tradition of salting the rim of the glass then makes all of those flavours sing even louder. Yum!

For Craft Gin Club’s Margarita, we are keeping that mouthwatering salt rim and a squeeze of fresh lime juice however we are getting more of those complex, zippy citrus tones from Craft Gin Club’s very own Margarita Cocktail Syrup.

The gin at the core of this Margarita twist is Condesa Gin Sahumerio. It is a smokey, floral, citrusy and herbaceous gin that works so well with the citrus tones in this cocktail.

The main mixer in this Margarita recipe is Karma Orangeade.

This fizzy soft drink has sweeter citrus tones that are the perfect way to balance the sour citrus flavours of fresh lime and the savoury hit of salt. We can not get enough!

Craft Gin Club’s Margarita

50ml Condesa Gin Sahumerio
25ml Margarita cocktail syrup
Squeeze of lime (optional)
25ml Karma Orangeade
Lime wheel and salt rim, to garnish

Begin by rimming your glass – a margarita glass is recommended, but a coupe will work too – by running a lime slice around its edge and then placing it in a shallow saucer of rock salt. Then, add your gin, syrup and a squeeze of lime (if using) to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into your rimmed glass. Top with orangeade and garnish with a lime wheel to serve.
