Job Description - Head of Brand & Communications

Full time position in Central London location

We’re Craft Gin Club - a Sunday Times Fast Track 100 UK startup and the world’s biggest gin subscription service.

Ever since our founders pitched successfully on Dragons’ Den, we’ve been hard at work, scouting the country - and the globe! - to find the world's finest small-batch gins. Every month, we send thousands of gin lovers across the country a surprise box packed with craft gins, mixers, foodie treats and our club mag.

As our Head of Brand & Communications, you will have the opportunity to shape all aspects of the Craft Gin Club brand, own our campaign calendar and develop marketing & PR campaigns to support our commercial strategy.

Reporting into the Marketing Director, you will lead on all brand and product campaign activity to drive brand awareness and customer acquisition around key retail moments, product launches and seasonal events.

You will own campaign execution across ATL channels including TV and work with the marketing and content teams to oversee implementation across all other channels.

Creative, meticulous and inventive, you will be able to manage cross-functional teams to deliver quality work at pace. You will have demonstrable expertise in devising a data-driven campaign strategy as well as delivering results across a variety of marketing & communications channels. 

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Consumer Insights

  • Own our brand strategy and how it translates into a strong, recognisable visual identity that resonates with our club members, drives awareness, consideration and loyalty. 

  • Manage the application of our brand identity across all external & internal touchpoints including marketing communications, content and product.

  • Develop consumer insights to future-proof our brand and product propositions, ensuring we remain relevant and innovative in the wider food and drink industry.

Campaign Management & Creative Services

  • Develop and implement our annual marketing campaign activity in accordance with our commercial and growth objectives.

  • Manage the development and production of creative assets in support of marketing activity across all consumer touchpoints. These will typically include long & short form video for TV and social, product photography, print and digital banners

  • Work with our creative agency and our internal creative team to deliver assets to be used across all channels.

  • Manage the creative time ensuring that tasks are prioritised according to commercial importance, and delivered in a timely manner.

Media planning and reporting

  • Working with our media agency, plan, execute and optimise our ATL media activity with a special focus on TV and inserts. 

  • Working closely with the marketing team, ensure that all acquisition activity is aligned and delivers against our growth objectives.

  • Identify new media channels and opportunities to raise brand/product awareness and drive customer acquisition.

  • Report on all campaign and ATL media metrics.

PR & Influencers

  • Lead all press office activity with the support of our PR agency to drive brand salience around key retail moments and position Craft Gin Club as the authority in the gin industry.

  • Working closely with our content and community team, develop our influencer & celebrity ambassador plan to deliver strong organic and paid coverage.

Experience & Skills

  • A degree in marketing or similar discipline.

  • Experience of delivering successful campaigns that drive brand awareness, increased traffic and customer acquisition.

  • Experience of delivering innovative thinking and creative excellence.

  • Experience of working in an ecommerce or a subscription business.

  • Experience managing teams and agencies

  • Strong understanding of all aspects of media planning and buying.

  • Ability to report on performance compiling data and insights from multiple sources.

  • Ability to work under own initiative and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent presentation and project management skills.

  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.

  • Previous experience in a content-led business is preferred.

  • Passion for gin is a plus.
