Eurostar turns 21 this year and it’s celebrating in the best way possible - with a gin. In fact, it’s launched a brand new one of its very own especially for the occasion.
Dubbed Toujours 21, it was designed by gourmet chef Raymond Blanc, who is the culinary director of Business Premier for Eurostar, and produced by Silent Pool distillery.
The gin mixes French botanicals with “classic floral scents of the British countryside” to create what Eurostar describe as “a balanced gin that is classic yet unique.”
Blanc said: “When designing the gin, my vision was to take travellers on a journey of taste that played upon all the subtleties of the brand.
“The aromatic notes of lavender hint to Eurostar’s latest Provencal destination, while the delicate yet clean taste of the angelica evoke memories of the British countryside. By uniting such robust flavours, the bespoke gin is the perfect way to commemorate the anniversary.”
Silent Pool’s master distiller, Cory Mason added: “It’s been an incredible experience working with Raymond Bland to create the bespoke gin for Eurostar. At Silent Pool Distillery, we pride ourselves in hand-making artisanal spirits using local resources and botanicals.
“With Raymond’s wealth of knowledge and understanding of flavours and ingredients, we were able to create something truly unique.”
The Toujours 21 gin is being launched as part of the drink offering in the Eurostar Business Premier lounges in London, Paris and Brussels, before being made available to buy online in the next few weeks.
