White Wine & Grapefruit Gin Spritz
Ingredients
25ml gin (the herby tones of Amázzoni Gin work well)
100ml white wine (we recommend a summery, crisp Sauvignon Blanc)
Fentimans Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water
Pink grapefruit slice, to garnish
Lots of ice
Fill a white wine glass with ice. Add the gin and white wine. Top with Fentimans Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water, stir and garnish with a slice of pink grapefruit.
A Taste Of Paradise
When Fentimans Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water hit the shelves in 2016, it didn’t take long for it to become a smash hit with gin fans all over Britain – much like the rest of their range including Rose Lemonade and Valencian Orange Tonic Water.
From their Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water’s subtle pink colour to its sweet-yet-zesty flavour profile, this instantly loveable tipple was crafted with balmy summer days in mind.
How exactly did the folk at Fentimans manage to capture the season of sunshine in liquid form?
Well, you have to start by sourcing the right and highest quality botanical ingredients.
“Our Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water is crafted using our very own botanical base, combined with ruby red grapefruit from Florida. It’s Florida’s subtropical climate, abundant rainfall and sunshine which helps grow the sweetest and juiciest grapefruits in the world,” explains Andrew Jackson of Fentimans.
The drink is finished by the addition of warming notes of orange, sourced from the beautiful Mediterranean city of Valencia. Valencian oranges are characterised by their sweetness and depth of flavour, which when freshly squeezed, results in a distinctive and vibrant coloured juice.
Fentimans brings these ingredients together with the utmost attention to quality and the result is the elegantly crafted mixer that our members are discovering in their July 2020 Gin of the Month box. So what does Andrew think is the reason behind the Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water’s popularity? “Well, it’s a deliciously flavoured tonic that is refreshingly dry and crisp,” muses Andrew. “It contains no artificial sweeteners, flavourings and preservatives, which is important to a lot of us, and we believe improves the flavour. And then it has versatility - it can be mixed with gin to bring a whole new dimension to the classic G&T, or with vodka for a refreshing and zesty long drink!” (Not to mention fantastic gin cocktails like the one we’ve shared above, of course!)
