There’s plenty of amazing pop-ups happening during LCW, but the 1930s American Aviation-themed cocktail lounge at The Jones Family Project isn’t one to be missed. A highly underrated gin cocktail, the Aviation is a true classic that’s been around for 100 years! With a specially crafted menu of several Aviation cocktails, this is the perfect place to branch out from those G&Ts and try something truly unique. Pop in any time after 5pm during the week and have a taste!

Twisted Gin and Tonics Mixology Class

Fentiman’s pairs up with Bombay Sapphire to bring you this fabulous masterclass on how to revolutionise your gin and tonics through various garnish and bitters combinations. Located on the market Terrace at Wright Brothers restaurant in Spitalfield, for just £20 you’ll be able to enjoy 3 G&Ts – one of which you create yourself – and snack on the classiest canapé there is: oysters! The class takes place on the 5th October from 6-7pm, so book ASAP to make sure you don’t miss out by emailing info@thewrightbrothers.co.uk.

You get to play the judge at this pop-up in Spitalfields’ Cocktail Village. Four cocktail masters will compete to see who can create the greatest tipple using Ampleforth's Bathtub Gin and Rumbullion. Taste them all and cast your vote to pick the champion! The competition will be going on all week, but note that times vary: Monday it’s from 5pm - 9.30pm, Tuesday through Saturday it’s midday - 9.30pm and Sunday it’s midday - 7pm, so plan accordingly.

The Cocchi Negroni Classes

If you’re a fan of this traditional tipple, you won’t want to miss the Giulio Cocchi Negroni masterclass. These veritable vermouth makers transform the Worship Street Whistling Shop into ‘Bar Cocchi,’ a glamourous Turin bar serving up the classic Italian gin drink: the Negroni. Cocchi’s owner, Roberto Bava, will guide you through the various Negroni styles and explain how this drink became the poison of choice for the Italian aperitivo. The classes are only happening the 4th to the 6th so secure your spot for £5 by booking here.

The crème de la crème of gin-centred events at LCW, the Gin Journey will set you back a pretty penny but it will be oh-so-worth it. This chauffeur-driven trip takes you to 6 different stops, each of which will serve you a classic gin cocktail and teach you all about its history. At £60 this boozy trip is definitely one of the priciest events on the list, but if you have a genuine interest in trying as many cocktails as you can and learning about them to boot, it’s definitely the one that will do the drink. The trip start over at the Whistling Shop on Worship Street and finishes at Callooh Callay. Book here.
