7 GREAT - AND GREEN - COCKTAILS TO GET LUCKY WITH ON ST. PATRICK’S DAY

Cocktails come in all colors and there is no shortage of green cocktails for St. Patrick’s Day. But many green cocktails that have Irish names are misleading - they’re not actually made with Irish ingredients. Here are a few cocktails that actually employ Irish liquors while at the same time maintain a green hue that’s perfect for celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.

EMERALD ISLE

Use Ireland’s First Craft Gin, our Gin of the Month Blackwater Nº 5, to mix this tribute to Ireland’s green landscapes. 

• 35ml Blackwater No. 5
• 1 teaspoon green crème de menthe
• 3 dashes Angostura bitters

EVERYBODY’S IRISH

The whole world is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Encourage everyone to drink this everybody drink!

• 2 ounces Irish whiskey
• 1 Tablespoon green crème de menthe
• 1 Tablespoon Green Chartreuse
• Garnish with cocktail olive

Here’s a quick nip of green to get you going just as the Paddy’s Day festivities begin
2 oz Midori melon liqueur
1/2 oz top shelf Irish Whiskey
1/2 ounce Bailey's Irish Cream Liqueur

IRISH JULEP

The original julep made famous in the States is made with American Bourbon. For this version, simply replace bourbon with Irish whiskey and you’ve got yourself a green treat.
4 mint leaves
1tsp sugar
2 tsp water
Ice 
1½oz Irish whiskey
If you’re feeling lucky, add a dash of crème de menthe

ST PATRICK’S DAY SIN

And full of sin it is - green sin, that is. This cocktail mixes Irish whiskey with two of the world’s most prominent green liqueurs, Midori and Chartreuse. 

• 25 ml freshly grated basil and lemon juice
• 20 ml sugar syrup
• 10 ml Chartreuse
• 1/2 ml Midori
• 1 shot Irish Whiskey
• Egg white and lemon juice for foam

They’re always smiling and the kick this dessert cocktail will give you will definitely turn up the corners of your mouth.

• 1 ounce Irish whiskey
• 1/4 ounce green crème de menthe
• 2 ounce cream
• Garnish with maraschino cherry

PICKLE BACK

This is for when you hate yourself on March 18th. The revolting mix of hair of the dog Irish whiskey and pickle juice is just the painful reminder you need to last you those last few hours until it’s time to go to the pub after work again.

• 1 shot Irish whiskey
• Chase with a shot of pickle brine
