Another delicious cocktail for you using November's sumptuous Slingsby Gin.
The Sling & IT is Slingsby's own take on the classic Gin & IT. Short for 'Gin and Italian', the name makes reference to the sweet vermouth in the cocktail, which is traditionally Italian - as opposed to French vermouth, which is traditionally dry.
A very popular drink in New York bars in the late 19th Century, it was originally known as the Sweet Martini, only becoming the Gin & IT during Prohibition in the 1920s. In this period, it also became a popular tipple among London drinkers, who were happy to find a new way to indulge their love of gin.

40ml Cocchi Torino Vermouth
“Throw” the ingredients. Throwing is a mixing technique that uses two shakers with the liquid being poured from one to the other ideally with one shaker higher than the other. Fill the top shaker with ice and strain into the 2nd shaker. This technique allows for aeration and chilling of the drink without over dilution from shaking. Serve in a small cocktail glass and garnish with an orange twist.
